StructSolve Engineering is seeking a Project Technician to support our mission of delivering structural engineering solutions with Truth, Integrity, Impartiality, and Super Service.
As a Project Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting our engineering team by conducting on-site evaluations, collecting accurate data, and documenting structural conditions in residential and commercial properties. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a variety of environments—including basements, attics, and other confined spaces.
Your Responsibilities
Perform on-site evaluations at residential and commercial job sites.
Take detailed measurements, photographs, and written notes.
Ensure accuracy of all data collected and submit timely reports.
Assist engineers during inspections to support project assessments.
Use CompanyCam for photo documentation and Kyrios for project tracking.
Maintain proper use of measurement tools and other equipment.
Communicate effectively with engineers, project administrators, and representatives to clarify site details.
Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards during all fieldwork.

You’re someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and making sure every detail is correct. You’re professional with clients, dependable in the field, and able to adapt to different site conditions.
Previous experience in construction, inspections, or field technician roles preferred.
Strong attention to detail with excellent observation and documentation skills.
Ability to work in varied environments including confined spaces and outdoor settings.
Proficiency with basic tools and measurement devices.
Familiarity with technology platforms such as CompanyCam and/or job tracking systems a plus.
Strong communication skills to interact with engineers, administrators, and clients.
Reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites.
What You’ll Get
Compensation: $50/hour.
Compensation is project-based, tied to time spent conducting assessments, documentation, and reporting.
Mileage reimbursement available at management’s discretion.
Flexibility to hold a second job, provided it is not in direct competition with StructSolve (outside work must be disclosed and approved).

What to Expect
Assignments scheduled during standard business hours (M–F, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM).
Travel required across the Des Moines area and beyond.
Field-based role with hands-on, detail-oriented responsibilities.
